Stella Stinnett was born in Portland, Oregon. Both of her parents were immersed in the show jumping business. She was 2 years old when her family moved to the east coast, so her recollections of the horses are mostly at Hunterdon and not Heathman Farm, until now! Stella began riding at a local barn when she was 5 years old because she had expressed an interest in horses. Living on a farm, and with her parents liking to the industry gave her a lot of drive to be in the saddle. When her mother Thea is not teaching her, Stella rides with Chris Kappler and Frank Madden, getting the finishing touches that took so long for her parents to develop. When not training at home, you can find Stella on the circuit competing in the equitation, jumper and occasionally the hunters. She is very dedicated to her riding and does online schooling to allow her to be in the barn learning as much as possible to succeed in the sport. Heathman Farm is a family business that her whole family participates in, and Stella enjoys the quality time that she spends with her family while doing this.
